Aeration is extremely important when growing and harvesting fish.
In order to operate a successful aquaculture facility, you must maintain a high enough dissolved oxygen (DO) to keep the fish healthy and active as active fish grow larger. Aeration cost is the third largest cost in intensive aquaculture system after post larvae and feed cost representing about 15% of total production cost. Therefore, selection of aerators plays a major role in maximising the profit in such system.
Pas-AQ™ is neither an aerator nor an agitator, it’s a Thermal De-Stratifier with the ability to deliver large amounts of dissolved oxygen and hydronium irons throughout the water body using minimum energy inputs.
Designed specifically for aquaculture applications, Pas-AQ™is fitted with a patented intake fixture that draws water from the bottom of the pond through a directional cone to allow juvenile stock to pass by uninhibited.
How does Pas-AQ™ work?
Described simply, Pas-AQ™ draws water from the bottom zone through a hydronium ion generator into a gas fluid aspirator. This provides favourable vertical thermohaline circulation and surface movement to maximise oxygenation with minimum energy inputs. The positively charged dispersal of hydronium ions help flocculate suspended particles thorough out the body of water. While the downward movement of water within the water column assist in the coagulation of solids and eliminate algae blooms by pulling cells down below the photozone. Bottom fluid movement enables natural bacteria to digest organic sludge and free trapped ammonia and nitrogen gases for oxidisation.

Pas-AQ™ fine bubble bottom up aeration has the ability to reach and maintain a higher dissolved oxygen content spread uniformly across the entire facility. Higher dissolved oxygen content results in healthier and more active fish and active fish grow larger, which creates a larger yield at the end of the growth cycle.
Bottom up aeration also allows any gases or loose sediment that normally decreases the quality of the water in the lower layers of the pond are released into the oxygen-rich layers where they can be broken down. This results in a pond where the entirety of the water column is comfortably liveable for the fish. In many facilities where paddle wheels are used, there are dead zones in the water that do not receive proper aeration and mixing. An overall higher water quality results in healthier fish, which in turn will grow larger.
